Treated Pine Boards on solid timber frames for a traditional Wendy House
Treated pine boards are the traditional way to clad a timber framed structure. It is a tried and tested construction method that will give a long life, has low environmental impact, and is economical.
Wooden Wendy Houses
Pine cladding
For thousands of years people have been making timber framed houses clad with wooden boards. Its a proven technology, with some wooden structures still going strong after hundreds of years of constant use. Today we have the added advantage of being able to pressure treat softer, easier to obtain materials, such as pine.
Treated pine boards have the advantages of being:
- sustainable- the trees are farmed and grow quickly
- locally sourced
- easy to maintain
- SABS approved
- very economical
If you just have to have that traditional look, are trying to keep costs down, or only require a short term structure, treated pine boards are a tried and tested way to get the Wendy house you want.
How do we use it?
Treated pine is only the cladding on the outside of the Wendy house. It's purpose is to keep the weather out, and not intended to provide any structural strength or rigidity. It is merely an attractive cladding for the underlying structure.
The strength and rigidity of a timber framed house comes from the foundations and the frame. Foundations can be either concrete slabs (permanent) or wooden pallet (non-permanent)- the former being more solid and rigid, but requiring stricter planning permission.
By using SABS as our minimum standards we ensure that all our Wooden Wendy houses are solidly built and will stand the test of time. We use quality timber in all areas of construction.
Full service
Electrical
We have full time, professional, qualified electricians doing fully certified SABS compliant installations. Your safety is our biggest concern- electrical work is not to be done by just anyone. We take this commitment very seriously!
Plumbing
Plumbing is another trade in which complying with SABS protocols is essential if problems are to be avoided later on. This is why all our plumbing work is done by qualified professionals and fully certified. A leaky pipe in a wooden framed structure can cause catastrophic damage- don't take that risk by using cowboy installers.
Painting
What's the difference between a timber framed home and a garden shed? The quality of the interior finish. We have the skilled artisans capable of finishing you a space that you are proud to live and work in. Why not have your timber framed home ready to just move straight into, looking smart and professional.
Partitioning
Large Wendy houses need dividing up to make them useful. This is done by creating internal walls in the same timber frame panel technique as the outside of the structure. Internal walls can also be useful to hide pipes and wires. If you want to turn your wendy house into a home then you will need partition walls.
Plastering
Plastering walls, or skimming, can really finish off a plasterboard interior- no joint marks, no imperfections, just smooth, perfect walls and ceilings. Our professional artisans create the perfect canvas for that amazing finish, making your wendy house a home.
Kitchens & Bathrooms
A quality home needs a quality kitchen and bathroom. From simple sinks and a bit of tiling to full bathrooms that would look at home on a magazine cover. Our skilled and qualified artisans are on hand to deliver the home of your dreams.
